Dear students and families,
Welcome to East Woods! My name is Luke Cegles and I am proud to be a part of the East Woods Physical Education program. I am thrilled to be teaching your child for the 2023-2024 school year.
I graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in December of 2021 with my bachelors degree in Kinesiology with a concentration of Teacher Education. Physical fitness has always played a significant role in my life. From an early age, physical fitness and overall health and well-being have been a priority in my household. Ranging from nutrition, mental health, and exercise. I am also extremely fortunate in knowing that physical fitness should not be taken for granted. Due to this I want to share my knowledge and enthusiasm as a Physical Education teacher through my teaching, in a fun and nurturing environment. Through having several amazing teachers during my years as a student and many years of babysitting and childcare of my own I knew that becoming a physical education teacher was the career for me. Lastly, and most importantly, my goal is to foster relationships with my students and their families. I strive to teach the importance of physical education while doing so in a fun, creative, positive and safe environment.
