Hello Service Students and Parents! Welcome to the Middle School! I am  so happy to spend the first year of your Middle School experience with you! Throughout the year, there will be numerous opportunities for you to learn new skills in reading, writing, thinking, speaking, and listening.

This year is my 25th year of teaching at Hudson Middle School.  I can honestly say this is a great place to learn and build lasting relationships with friends and teachers.  Since my first day of 1st grade,  I have known that I wanted to be a teacher.  I feel very blessed to have a career in an area that I look forward to every day in a community with wonderful students and parents.  After so many years of school,  I STILL get excited in August when the school supplies are on the shelves and class lists are posted on the door!  My goal this year is to make learning meaningful in my classroom every day.  I want ALL of my students to leave sixth grade with a love for learning, reading, and writing.

When I am not teaching, I spend most of my time with my husband, Rob, and my two daughters, Emily and Allison.  Emily is a sophomore in college  and Allison is a sophomore in high school.  Outside of school, I enjoy reading, going to sporting events, and doing everything outdoors.  On a sunny day,  you will find my family outside enjoying the sunshine!

In Language Arts this year,  students will improve their reading and writing skills through novels, short stories, and technology.  We will analyze and interpret multiple texts to get a better understanding and improve our critical thinking skills.

Please refer to my classroom expectations page  for more specific details about my classroom expectations and routines.

I look forward to an amazing year!
