Hello Honor Families!
I am so happy to welcome you to Hudson Middle School! I am thrilled to be your sixth-grade English Language Arts and Social Studies teacher. Throughout the year, we will explore and learn through each other. We will analyze multiple fiction and non-fiction texts while learning new skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening while integrating Ohio's Learning Standards for Social Studies.
I am excited about beginning my ninth year at Hudson Middle School. I have an education degree from John Carroll University and a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Kent State University. I taught for 5 years in the Hudson City Schools many years ago as a fifth-grade language arts teacher at East Woods. I am thrilled to be back in the classroom after staying home for 16 years to raise my daughters. I have enjoyed raising my four daughters in Hudson for twenty-eight years and I am so glad to share my love of learning and Hudson Middle School with your child.
When I am not in the classroom, I spend most of my time with my husband, Kevin, and our four daughters, Molly, Grace, Hanna, and Sara. Molly graduated from John Carroll University with a degree in integrated marketing communications with minors in Entrepreneurship and human rights. She currently works for a Cleveland-based digital marketing agency, VividFront, as an Account Executive. Grace graduated in May from Miami University with degrees in Kinesiology and Public Health. She is working for Maxim Health in my hometown of Chicago. Hanna is a sophomore at Ohio State University studying Journalism, Spanish, and Aviation. She wants to become a pilot. Also, she plays field hockey for OSU. Go Bucks! And Sara is in 10th grade at Hudson High School and plays field hockey and lacrosse.
In my free time, I love to visit my favorite place, Sanibel Island, with my family and, of course, read a few new books! I love to go hiking and enjoying a warm fire on a cold winter night.
I look forward to getting to know each of your children and sharing my love for literature, writing, and social studies with them. My focus is to always do what’s best for each child. Please let me know if you ever have any questions or concerns and don’t hesitate to contact me at any time.
Learning is not a race but a journey. I look forward to exploring this amazing journey with you and your child! Have a wonderful year-Beth Killeen
