Ms. Widdowson

I am an Intervention Specialist for the Hudson City Schools serving as a small group instructor.  As a 1979 graduate of Hudson High School, I have a special place in my heart for the students of Hudson and for maintaining the excellent reputation of my Alma Matter.  Following my graduation from Hiram College, I went to work for the Stow-Munroe Falls School system as a Small Group Instructor supporting students in grades 1-12. During my early teaching years, I also worked as a “live-in” staff at a local group home, a job I loved as much as teaching.   After fifteen years in the Stow-Munroe Falls School district, I was recruited to come back to my Alma Matter to teach.   I started working at Hudson High School in 1999. I love working with the students, staff, and parents of Hudson High School.

Outside of school, my husband (Don), two teenagers (Christiana and Stephen), and pets, Sandy the dog, Tai the cat, Izzy the bird, and Holly and Mary the pet rats keep me very busy.  In what spare time I can find, I enjoy reading and crafts, but my creative passion is in making, displaying, and teaching dollhouse miniatures.  If I could be anywhere in the world, it would be lounging on a beach, listening to the music of the surf.

I have learned from my 25+ years of teaching that:

• we really don’t have all the answers.
• when we think we’ve “seen it all”, we really haven’t.
• we take life too seriously and need to laugh more.
