Degrees and Certifications:
Elementary Education (K-8) Pre-Kindergarten Early Education of the Handicapped (EEH) Intervention Specialist (K-3).
Hi my name is Nancy Messenger. I am an Intervention Specialist at Evamere Elementary School, currently working with Kindergarten students. I have previously taught Preschool, Kindergarten, and Preschool Special Education. This will be my 18th year with the Hudson City Schools, and 30th year of teaching. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education (K-8) from The University of Akron. While attending graduate school in Special Education at The University of Akron I earned additional teacher validations and licensure in Pre-Kindergarten, Early Education of the Handicapped (EEH), and Intervention Specialist (K-3).
I work with students within their general education classroom, as well as in small groups and individual instruction in my classroom G-10. A variety of educational groups and activities occur in G-10 including small group instruction in Reading, Written Expression, and Math, Fine Motor small group, Lunch Bunch, and Social Thinking and Zones of Regulation small groups.
I will be working very hard to establish our time together as a fun, comfortable, challenging, and safe learning environment where we each do our personal best. My goal is to make this a successful and rewarding learning experience for your child. I believe each child brings their own unique talents, experiences, and personality to our group.
I grew up in Hudson with my parents and four siblings. I attended the Hudson City Schools from grades Pre-K thru 12. I am married and have five children (2 boys and 3 girls) and seven grandchildren. I enjoy watching my son play high school football and rugby. We also enjoy hiking, visiting local festivals, swimming and going to the zoo. When I am not teaching you will find me drinking coffee with a good book.
