Bienvenue à la site web de Mme Schiele
I have been teaching since 2006 and have taught French I, II, III, Honors IV, & Advanced Placement courses at both the middle school and high school levels. In addition to teaching, I serve as advisor to the Société Honoraire de Français (a national French honor society), supervisor of the French trip to Quebec, and co-advisor to Junior Leadership Hudson.
I started my teaching career at Valley Forge High School and Greenbriar Middle School in the Parma City School District, and I have continued it at both Hudson Middle School and Hudson High School. I am an active member of the Ohio Foreign Language Assocation and the American Association of Teachers of French.
Like many of my students, I began learning French at Hudson Middle School, and I have never stopped! I have a Bachelor's Degree in French from the University of Akron, with a license to teach French to all levels from K-12. I have a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Ursuline College.
While a student in college, I studied abroad in the French Alps. During that experience, I lived with a French host family in an immersion setting in a small town near the city of Annecy. In addition to my past educational and travel experiences, I continue to immerse myself in the French language and culture by participating in French conversation groups, collaborating with teachers in France and Senegal, attending nearby cultural events, reading books, listening to music, and watching films in French for personal enjoyment.
In addition to teaching, I am married, have three young children, and a dog. I enjoy playing with my kids, running, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
