My name is Kathy Sfiligoj. I have been teaching since 2002. I teach Honors Chemistry, AP Chemistry and Organic Chemistry. I have experience teaching Physical Science, Biological Applications, Environmental Science and other levels of Chemistry. I am excited about the two new chemistry courses, Survey of Organic Chemistry and Organic Chemistry: Reactions and Mechanisms.  I am currently the Science Department Chair.

 

Prior to teaching, I worked as a chemical engineer for 15 years. I was employed for 10 years by a radiation and detection monitoring company and 5 years with a small appliance consumer-products manufacturer. I have a BS in Engineering from CWRU, a teaching Certificate from Notre Dame College and a Masters in Education, Evaluation and Measurement from Kent State. I also earned my Master Teacher's License in 2012.

 

My husband and I have celebrated over 30 wedding anniversaries together! We are officially 'empty-nesters' with our Maltipoo, Buddy. Our older daughter, Kayla, works in marketing analytics in Akron. Our younger daughter, Lia, is a senior designer for an advertising agency in NYC.
