Welcome to 8-Oviatt Science!
SCIENCE IS REAL!
I truly believe that emphasizing that "science is real" by making connections between what we learn in science class and what takes place in the world will benefit my students. One of my main goals as an educator is to help our children recognize how what they learn at school will help them be successful outside of school.
I am licensed to teach science and social studies to children in grades 4-9. I have an MS in Education in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment. As a lifelong learner, I continue to take courses in educational pedagogy, technology, and in my content areas.
On a personal note, I've been married 23 years to my husband, Craig (also a science teacher). Our 15-year-old daughter, Sammy, attends Stow-Munroe Falls High School in Stow. We also share our home with our three feline friends, Catniss Everdeen, Septimus Heap, & Loki, and our tropical fish, Comma. Our honeybee colonies provide us with all the honey we can eat!
