Mrs. Blue

I am looking forward to getting to know each of my students' strengths and interests and want to take this opportunity to introduce myself.  This is my 28th year teaching mathematics in Hudson.  My hobbies include running, baking/cake decorating and photography.  My husband, David, is in his 29th year of teaching at East Woods. We live in Hudson with our two children, Ainsley, a junior, at The Ohio State University, and Preston, a senior at University School, and our beagle, Bailey.

My educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with a concentration in mathematics from Kent State University and a Master of Science in Educational Administration from the University of Akron with licensure as an elementary, middle school, and high school principal.  Additionally, I have earned 58 hours post-Master's focusing in the areas of middle school mathematics education and school administration.  In addition to teaching middle school students, I spent many years teaching graduate-level mathematics education courses for teachers through Miami University.  Professionally, at the state level, I serve on the OEA Convention Planning Committee, NEOEA Professional Development Committee, the Ohio Department of Education's Mathematics Model Curriculum Writing Team, Assessment Alignment Review Committee, and Rangefinding Committee, and am a Resident Educator Assessor for the state of Ohio.  At the district level, I am a member of our district's Local Professional Development Committee, Scheduling Committee, and Director of the Ohio Math League here at HMS.

Let's make this a great year together!
