My name is Katy Ellison and I serve English Learners in Kindergarten and First Grades at McDowell Early Learning School and Ellsworth Elementary.  This is my 17th year as an educator; 9 years as a 2nd grade teacher, 6 years as an ESL teacher, and 2 years as faculty adjunct at Kent State University. I live in Hudson with my husband, 3 kids and various pets! We love to swim, hike, boat, and fish. My favorite thing to do is sew quilts and read.

I enjoy helping students feel comfortable in a new environment.  Entering a school when unsure of the language, people and atmosphere can be intimidating for young students, and I am here to ease that transition.
