Welcome to Reading Club in B16! My name is Erin Smith and I have the privilege of teaching supplemental, small group reading at Ellsworth Hill.  I am passionate about engaging students in positve learning experiences and developing a passion for reading and life long learning.  I love learning myself and thrive on solving problems using creative approaches.  Creating a safe, positive and respectful learning environment is extremely important to me.  Our classroom will be a space where we will make mistakes, learn from our mistakes, respect each others mistakes and celebrate our accomplishments!

I earned my Masters of Education and K-12 Reading Endorsement from John Carroll University in May 2008.  I spent three years teaching 3rd grade in Solon City Schools.  Two of those years as a classroom teacher and one as an interventionist.  During my years teaching in Solon, I developed a love for teaching small group and differentiating instruction to meet the needs of each student that I worked with.  This love for small group instruction lead me to the reading position in Hudson City Schools.  I look forward to working with the students and families at Ellsworth Hill this year.
