Degrees and Certifications:
Deciding in my thirties to make a career change, I went back to school to become certificated in elementary 1-8, graduating Cum Laude from Cleveland State University. After teaching 5 years in Cleveland Public Schools, I realized the need for special education and returned to Cleveland State where I received my Master's degree in Special Education Mild/Moderate. That brought me to Hudson High School where I started in 2006 as an Intervention Specialist. So, my decisions to teach and then, subsequently, to teach in special education were very deliberate.
In 2012 I became Hudson High's first Ski Club Advisor where we ski at Boston Mills Ski Resort once a week from early January into February. It's rewarding to welcome new skiers into the ski culture where students enjoy riding the lifts, skiing down together, and enjoying being outdoors mid-winter.
On a more personal side, I am an outdoor enthusiast. My husband and I backpack, road bike, hike, and alpine ski. We also enjoy live music. Our favorite genres are classical, folk, light rock, and the blues.
