Mrs. Karli Martin
Thanks for stopping by to get to know a bit about me!
My name is Karli Martin and I have been teaching in middle schools since 2007. During that time, I have had the opportunity to work with many wonderful families, students, staff members, and communities. I've also been fortunate enough the teach Social Studies, Reading/Language Arts, and Gifted Education across grades 6 through 12.
All my life I wanted to be a teacher and from a young age, I remember looking up to my parents, both educators themselves, and deciding that middle school had captured my heart. After graduating from Stow-Munroe Falls High School, I attended Kent State University. There I obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Middle Childhood Education with a focus on Reading, Language Arts, and Social Studies. This also provided me with the opportunity to complete my student teaching in South Africa, where I met my husband, Mr. Andrew Martin, now a PE teacher for Hudson City Schools. In 2009 I returned to Kent State to obtain a Master's Degree in Reading Specialization, with a K-12 Reading Endorsement and again in 2017 for a licensure as a K-12 Gifted Intervention Specialist.
Outside of school I enjoy spending time with my husband and kids, Landon and Nola. I can usually be found somewhere exploring the great outdoors or in my kitchen whipping up something good to eat.
I'm thrilled to work with you this year and look forward to many exciting and educational moments! Take a minute, smile, and enjoy the adventure that we're on together. Have fun and remember, happy minds learn best!
