• Integrated Computer Applications

    This course meets the 1/2 credit computer requirement as well as the State of Ohio Financial Literacy requirement.

    The design of Integrated Computer Applications emphasizes utilizing application programs for maximum efficiency. Students will explore the Windows operating system and develop a working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, publication and presentation software. The Google Apps for Education environment will also be utilized to integrate digital media in various formats. In addition, this course will cover everyday financial decisions including banking, credit cards, insurance, investing and general economic concepts.

    • Formatting tips and tricks
    Microsoft PowerPoint:
    • Design tips and tricks
    • Original backgrounds
    • Adding music
    • Effects
    • Importing information from other programs
    • Creating and adding a podcast
    • Creating and adding video
    Google Apps for Education:
    • Intro to Google Docs
    • Intro to Google Sheets
    • Intro to Google Slides
    • Intro to Google Sites
    • Intro to Google Drawing 
    Personal Finance:
    • Insurance (auto, health, renter's)
    • Credit scores 
    • Credit cards
    • Credit card fraud
    • Investing
    • Student loans
    • Economy
    • Budget

    In addition, students will use Google Sites to create an e-portfolio. Students will also use voice recording software, digital cameras, and digital camcorders at various times throughout the semester.

    Additional Support: I am available to provide extra guidance and support to students whenever needed. Students may arrange to meet with me before or after school, or during other periods throughout the day when possible.
