I have had the opportunity to teach in Hudson for 20 years. My first year was in McDowell Elementary as a third grade teacher. The last 19 years have been in 5th; teaching math, science, and social studies. I have been 5th grade math facilitator for many years helping Hudson find the best way to teach mathematics to students so number sense is understood and applied to real-world problems.

 

Students learn in a variety of ways. I enjoy exploring different lessons that will reach each student, so he/she feels confident with skills. You will find students working in small groups often on our math workshop days. Workshop allows students to practice new concepts, review already learned concepts, learn from peers, and the opportunity for one:one conferring with the teacher.

 

Mr. VanderSchie and I met at East Woods School and were married in 2008. Our son, Gavin, made our family complete in 2010. He is the joy of our lives and keeps us busy We love to travel, play, and spend time with family and friends.
