In 7th grade Social Studies, using our research skills to determine who would win a fictional battle between the Romans and the Vikings. Using our creativity and tech tools to create movie trailers to share our findings!
Loved welcoming our High School Service Learning student to one of our 6th grade teams this week! Students engaged in an activity where they made connections with one another – making a web of connectivity as a visual reminder of our similarities!Hard at work in the new semester, with our HS Service Learning student! Exploring how shape and weight affect speed!
As part of our study of the major religions, 6th grade Social Studies students traveled to stations to learn about Jewish holidays and milestone events.Viewing student-created Movie Trailers for the Revolutionary War, in 8th grade History class! Such creativity from students, showcasing their research and understanding of important events in history!We are honored to welcome our guest educators through Kent State University. These Fulbright Scholars are among the top educators in Saudi Arabia, spending a year in the US learning with us. We appreciate opportunities like this that allow us (and our students) to create global connections that help us better understand one another and learn from each other.Students share "What are you reading now?" with one another in 7th grade Language Arts class. Book talks with our media center specialist on a number of new titles help spark even greater enthusiasm for reading!Staff Shout-Outs

OMLA Educator of the Year: The Ohio Middle Level Association (OMLA) seeks to honor an Educator of the Year - this award is the most distinguished honor the Ohio Middle Level Association can bestow upon an individual to recognize his or her contributions to middle level education. Parent Technology Night 1/23: Join us for Parent Technology Night on Thursday, January 23, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the HHS Auditorium. Melissa McClain, a renowned speaker from Akron Children's Hospital, will present social media stressors that today's children are experiencing and provide tips for parents to help their children build resilience as they navigate social media. 8th-to-9th Grade Parent/Student Night: will be held on Monday, January 27 at 7:00 p.m. in the high school auditorium. All curriculum options for incoming 9th grade students will be discussed. Representatives from high school departments will also be present to answer questions. Students are welcome to attend with their parents.
