Mark Zinn
Hello, my name is Mark Zinn. I am thrilled to be your child's Physical Education teacher here at Hudson City Schools. Elementary PE is my passion, as there is no other experience that provides the opportunity to shape young students' abilities like it! My goal every year is to make every student feel valued and for students to look forward to coming to PE class every week! We create a classroom environment that ensures each and every student feels safe both physically and emotionally. This is my 6th year of teaching and 4th in Hudson. I am currently the Boys JV Golf coach and the Varsity Girls Basketball assistant coach at Hudson High school. I teach all Kindergarten PE classes and co-teach 6 different 3rd grade PE classes.
My previous teaching experiences include teaching high school (9-12) Health and PE within the Cleveland Metro School District. During my 2 years of working at CMSD, I also had the pleasure of being a high school volleyball coach and a high school basketball coach. I also coached rugby at St. Edward High School for 3 years. Previous to being an educator, I worked in accounting and banking for 4 years.
Outside of teaching and coaching, I love spending time with my wife Whitney and our dog Moose. My wife is also a teacher here at HCSD! During our free time, we love taking adventures with Moose, traveling, exploring new places around our neighborhood in Cleveland, and rooting for all the Cleveland sports teams. I was born and raised in Keyser, WV. I grew up in a sporting family and have both played and coached multiple sports at different levels of competition. I attended West Virginia University for both my bachelors and master’s degrees. I am also a combat veteran of the United States Army and currently serve in the West Virginia Army National Guard.
