Welcome to McDowell Elementary
My name is Natalie Wininger! I am starting my third year as the Principal of McDowell Elementary. This is going to be a very special year for both students and staff at McDowell....this will be the last third-grade class at McDowell Elementary before we transition to a 3-5 building!
I am a graduate of Hudson City Schools! My class was the first class to graduate from the new building….class of 1993! After graduating, I was fortunate enough to be recruited by the University of Cincinnati to play soccer and start my post-secondary education. After 2 years at UC, I decided to transfer to Ashland University to continue my soccer career and my education degree in Special Education. I graduated from Ashland University in 1998 with a degree in Special Education. Never in a million years did I think I would end up back in Hudson after graduating from college, but as fate would have it, I was hired in the fall of 1998 as an Intervention Specialist at HHS! While working as an Intervention Specialist I continued my education at the University of Akron. I obtained my master’s degree in Administration. After teaching for 11 years, I was ready to take the next step in my career. I was hired as the Assistant Principal at Streetsboro High School where I worked for 3 years. After spending 3 years at Streetsboro, I was fortunate enough to return to Hudson as one of the Unit Principals at Hudson High School, where I spent 6 years before becoming the Principal of McDowell Elementary.
I love what I do and I am thankful every day for the opportunity I have to work with such wonderful students, staff, and parents!
