Health and safety guidelines for K-12 schools recommend the district “Thoroughly clean and sanitize school environment to limit the spread of germs on shared surfaces.” The district is implementing the following:
CDC Guidelines for Handwashing
According to the CDC, hand washing is a key element in keeping ourselves and loved ones safe and healthy. Washing our hands during the following times when we are most likely to get and spread germs can help keep you healthy and safe. Hands should be washed:
- Before and after eating.
- After restroom use.
- Any time hands are soiled.
- After blowing your nose, coughing, sneezing or touching your face covering.
- Do not rely solely on hand sanitizer, use soap and water in between hand sanitizer use.
- Upon entry and exit of buildings with a 60% alcohol-based sanitizer, rubbing hands together for at least 20 seconds or until dry.
When soap/water handwashing is not feasible, please use hand sanitizer.
