• Orchestra: 4-12

    • Masks must be worn when possible. At least 3’ physical distance must be maintained, but additional distance is best practice.
    • All students should be masked while setting up instruments and getting ready. 
    • For wind instruments, the physical distancing needs to be measured from the end of the instrument vs. the student in the chair.
    • Students MUST wash their hands or use hand sanitizer immediately after each class. 

    General Music: K-5

    • Students can go to the music classroom. It is ideal to have students move as a group or cohort so they are not mixing classes. 
    • Students must wash their hands or use hand sanitizer immediately after each music class. 
    • Instruments can be used but must be wiped after each use.
    • Avoid any instruments like a recorder in class. 
    • For singing, if they can physically distance 6ft, they can take their mask off to sing indoors. Physical distancing is a must.
    • Whenever possible, go outside for class. For singing without masks, students must be at least 6’ physically distanced. The more physical distance between students, the better. 

    Choir

    • Students can go to the music room. Must be at least 3’ physically distanced, additional distance is better.
    • Students must wear masks inside the classroom. 
    • Go outdoors for class as much as possible. 
    • For singing, a minimum of 6’ physical distancing is required for singing without masks.
    • Students MUST wash their hands or use hand sanitizer immediately after each class.

    Band

    • For wind instruments, the physical distancing needs to be measured from the end of the instrument vs. the student in the chair. 
    • All students should be masked when setting up. 
    • Be outdoors as much as possible with 6’ physical distancing. 
    • Students MUST wash their hands or use hand sanitizer immediately after each class.

    Art

    • Students must be masked when indoors. 
    • Students can use equipment (not school supplies) but it must be cleaned after use.

    Physical Education

    • Students can use equipment but it must be cleaned after use. 
    • In PE, they can take their masks off if they can physically distance, indoors or outdoors.
    • Students MUST wash their hands or use hand sanitizer immediately after each class.

    School Supplies and Shared Equipment

    • Students are not sharing school supplies (Ex. markers, writing utensils, math manipulatives, etc.).
    • Students can share classroom specific school equipment (Ex. pottery wheel, instruments, tools, sporting equipment, etc.). A cleaning procedure, determined by the teacher, is being followed prior to the next student using the equipment.
