• The Week in Review at HMS: Notes from Dr. Cockley

    Week of April 15, 2024
Thanks to Mayor Anzevino, the City of Hudson, Door 2 Art Studio, and students from Seton and Hudson Middle School - a beautiful collaboration focused on kindness! “It’s about doing something good and giving back to the community!”
Our students were absolute rock stars during this week's ELA OSTs! They persevered, worked hard, and tried their best! Special thanks to so many who supported our students and made them feel loved and cared for...from our amazingly generous testing snacks that were donated, to the students and PE teachers who helped our students prepare mentally and physically each day to do their best, and to so many who provided notes of encouragement, our students are so fortunate and so AWESOME!!
7th grade Science students paint and decorate their 3D designed and printed cars! What a cool project! As part of their learning about force and motion, students will soon race their cars, taking data to understand how speed is impacted!
Real-life learning about percent increase and decrease! After holding a pencil collection competition, and then providing a set amount of pencils to different teachers and staff members in the building, students collect data each week on pencils remaining in each of those locations. Did the number increase or decrease and how does that compare to the initial value?
Students design a superhero element in Science class to show their knowledge of the element's properties! Love their creativity!
6th grade students show their understanding of box and whisker plots in math class, as they compare data between class periods.
It's the Hot Seat! Students show their knowledge of the class novel, Blood Red Horse, through a super-energized quiz game! A perfect activity for the afternoon of a statewide test day! Lots of cheering and anticipation!!
