Parent Pick-Up and Drop-Off Procedures

In order to make the environment safe and orderly for our students, we will continue to utilize specific procedures for the drop-off and pick-up of students. 

Drop-Off:

Parents coming in for drop-off will enter the driveway closest to Hudson-Aurora Road and follow the curve.  They will stop at the front of the building to let their student out of the car.  Please make sure your child is in the passenger side back seat in order for staff to help them out.  Parents will then follow guides that will help them turn around and exit out the McDowell driveway that is across from the one in which they entered.  Car rider students will enter through the “A” Doors at the front of the building.  Walkers and bike riders will enter the building through Door “H” which is the side of the building that has the Half-Day Kindergarten Rooms.  Buses will park in the designated spaces in the parking lot.  Staff will go out to lead students from the buses to the school.  Preschool bus riders will enter through Door “D” while Kindergarten bus riders will enter through Door “C”.  We ask that you do not drop off your child earlier than 8:45 a.m.  If your child is in the afternoon preschool or kindergarten program, please do not drop them off until 12:50 p.m.  Thank you for being patient and helping us keep your child safe.

Pick-Up:

Preschool PM, Kindergarten Half Day PM:

At 11:40 a.m. for preschool AM and half day AM kindergarten, students who are walking/biking with a parent or being picked up by parents by car are dismissed from the classroom.  Pick-up for car rider students will be the same procedure as the drop-off.  Staff will help place students into cars.  Please have your BLUE Car Rider sign displayed in your window.  Walkers and bike riders will be picked up at Door “H”, same as the morning.  Students riding buses will be escorted by staff out to buses at dismissal. 

Preschool PM, Kindergarten Half Day PM, and All Day Students:

At 3:40 p.m. for preschool PM, half day PM kindergarten, and all day kindergarten, students who are walking/biking with a parent or being picked up by parents by car are dismissed from the classroom.  Pick-up for car rider students will be the same procedure as the drop-off.  Staff will help place students into cars.  Please have your BLUE Car Rider sign displayed in your window.  Walkers and bike riders will be picked up at Door “H”, same as the morning.  Students riding buses will be escorted by staff out to buses at dismissal. 

Students who normally travel home on the bus each day must have a written note from a parent each time another arrangement for going home is necessary.  All changes must be in writing and given to the Office by 3:00 p.m. to ensure your child’s safety.
