A little about me...
I have wanted to be a teacher since I was a little girl! Before actually having a classroom with real students, I used to "teach" my dolls and my stuffed animals. There was no question that I would be a real teacher in the future. After graduating from Slippery Rock State College in 1982, I taught high school English at Neshannock High School near New Castle, PA, for seven years. Once I was expecting my second child, I decided that driving over an hour each way was becoming too tiresome, so I reluctantly resigned. The plus side to my resignation was getting to spend more time with my kids. I also finished my M.Ed. in Reading Specialization and did some student teacher supervision for Kent State University. That is how I learned of the reading/English opening at Hudson Middle School. After making the decision to return to teaching full time and being offered the 8th grade position, I excitedly accepted the offer and have been here since 1991. I honestly feel blessed to be teaching at Hudson Middle School!
I have been married thirty six years to my husband Dave, and we have two grown children who both went through the Hudson City Schools. My son Matt is a dentist who lives in Lexington, Kentucky, with his wife and their two energetic little boys. Two summers ago, my daughter Alicia and her husband moved back to the area from Bluffton, South Carolina. They have a little girl who will be one in September. My daughter is a third grade teacher at East Woods Intermediate.
Family means everything to me! I especially LOVE being a grandma!
