Mrs. Mary Catherine Allen-Gladstone

As a resident of Hudson for the past 27 years and actively instructing children of all ages since 1982, I can comfortably describe myself as a perpetual student.  Each day presents an opportunity to learn something new, whether it be within or outside of our school walls. Children bring new ideas and insights daily, and I look forward to continued personal growth and learning with everyone this school year.

I am a native Clevelander and love the Guardians! My husband, Mike, and I are blessed with three beautiful children: Mary Kate ~ 30; Joseph ~ 28; and Michael ~ 27 years of age. Our children attended Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio.  Mary Kate graduated from Xavier in 2015 with a degree in Communications and Psychology and graduated in 2018 from the University of Akron with a degree as a Child Life Specialist.  Mary Kate works at Pittsburg's Children's Hospital within the Endriconology-Oncology Unit, where she met her fiance, Chris, and they will be married on January 20th, 2024.  Joseph graduated in May 2017 with a degree in Business/Marketing & Music. Joseph lives in Nashville, pursuing his dream of writing, producing, & playing music while working for Gresham Smith as an Assistant Project Manager.  Michael graduated in May 2018 with a degree in International Studies/Business & Spanish and operates at TiER1 PERFORMANCE as a Sr. Specialist in Denver, Colorado.  We joyfully celebrated Michael & Catherine's wedding this past summer in Indianapolis.

I have had the privilege of teaching in various settings and with diverse populations. Each experience has enabled me to bring more into my classroom every year.  The furthest destination my vocation took me was The International School of the Sacred Heart in Tokyo, Japan. This school educates children from all over the world, grades K through 12.  I was a 3rd-grade teacher,  and all my students spoke English and two other languages fluently. It was indeed an experience that resonates with my current philosophy of education today. I hope I can bring some understanding of diversity into my classroom that reflects the world in which we live.
"Respect, tolerance, and compassion" are the foundation and principles of my classroom, and I often address my class as a classroom family. We all must learn how to work together day in and day out, modeling respect, tolerance, and compassion for one another's needs and strengths. I hope to be an asset in helping guide your children and challenging them to reach their fullest potential.
I love being a teacher, and I am committed to working with you, as you are your child's first and most valuable educator.  I welcome your thoughts, and I look forward to continued growth in the ever-changing world of education.
