Mrs. Mary Allen-Gladstone

As a resident of Hudson for the past 24 years and actively instructing children of all ages since 1982, I can comfortably describe myself as a perpetual student.  I believe that each day presents an opportunity to learn something new, whether it be in or outside of our school walls. Children bring new ideas and new insights daily, and I look forward to continued personal growth and learning with all every school year.

I am a native Clevelander and love the Tribe! My husband, Mike, and I are blessed with three beautiful children: Mary Kate ~ 27, Joseph ~ 25, and Michael ~ 24 years of age. Our children attended Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio.  Mary Kate graduated from Xavier in 2015 with a degree in Communications and Psychology and graduated in 2018 from the University of Akron with a degree as a Child Life Specialist.  Mary Kate works at Pittsburg's Children's Hospital within the Endriconology-Oncology Unit.  Joseph graduated in May 2017 with a degree in Business/Marketing & Music. Joseph lives in Nashville pursuing his dream of writing, producing, & playing music, while working for Wood Construction Company as a Project Engineer.  Michael graduated in May 2018 with a degree in International Studies/Business & Spanish and operates at TiER1 PERFORMANCE as a Sales Enablement Specialist in Cincinnati, Ohio.

I have had the privilege of teaching in a variety of settings and with diverse populations. Each experience has enabled me to bring more into my classroom every year.  The furthest destination my vocation has taken me was to The International School of the Sacred Heart in Tokyo, Japan. This school educates children from all over the world, grades K through 12.  I was a 3rd-grade teacher,  and all my students spoke English, as well as two other languages fluently. It was indeed an experience that resonates within my current philosophy of education today. I hope I can bring some understanding of diversity into my classroom that reflects the world in which we live.

"Respect, tolerance, and compassion" are the foundation and principles of my classroom, and I often address my class as a classroom family. We all must learn how to work together day in and day out, modeling respect, tolerance, and compassion of and for one another's needs and strengths. I hope to be an asset in helping guide your child, as well as challenging him/her to reach his/her fullest potential.

I love being a teacher, and I am committed to working with you, as you are your child's first and most valuable educators.  I welcome your thoughts, and I look forward to continued growth in the ever-changing world of education.
