Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Miller

Hello there!

Welcome to Third Grade! My name is Shelby Miller and I am incredibly honored and excited to be your child's Third grade teacher.

This year will look a little different as I will be out on Maternity leave until after Spring Break. My husband and I are very excited to have our first child in the first few weeks of August! I look forward to meeting you and hearing all about you! You will be in GREAT hands with Miss Kopczak as your teacher until I return!

This will be my ninth year teaching in the district. I taught second grade at Ellsworth Hill before I came to McDowell for third grade and then moved to EWIS when we joined our 3-5 grade family. I'm excited to join the East Woods Intermediate Family! I graduated from The University of Akron in 2014 with a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and certification in PreK-3. I graduated from Bowling Green State University in 2015 and received my Reading Endorsement. My passion truly is in the classroom guiding students towards success and reaching their goals. I would not want to be anywhere else but HERE in Hudson with YOUR child! I really emphasize the importance of becoming a life-long learner and leader, giving students the option to take control of their learning and problem-solving skills. I will work every day to create a safe, positive, and welcoming environment that takes to heart my student's interests, talents, and unique learning styles. Every student will be valued and loved in our classroom.

I am thrilled for the year we have ahead of us in room 207! I look forward to working with you and your child this year. There will be lots of fun, adventures, and learning! We truly embrace the idea of a TEAM and working together in all aspects of education and life. It is so awesome to see students come together and synergize. Remember: Together IS better! :) I will follow and support all the safety guidelines and precautions to keep my students safe and healthy throughout this year. They are my number one priority and I am here for you and your families through it all!

Please feel free to contact me at any time. I can easily be reached by my email. Please note this is still my email, even with my name change! You can also call my voicemail at school at (330) 653-1236 ext. 4207. I will do my best to get back to you as soon as I can, but because your children are my primary focus during the school day, it will most likely be during after school hours, please allow a full 24 hours for a response.

Together in Health and Learning,

Shelby Miller
