Mrs. Julie McVicker

Welcome!  My name is Julie McVicker and I am the school psychologist at Hudson High School.
 
I graduated from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio with Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology and French.  I completed my Psychological Specialist degree along with my Master of Arts in Clinical/Counseling Psychology from Cleveland State University.  From there I completed an internship with South Euclid-Lyndhurst Schools, and began my career in Hudson in 1999.  While in Hudson I have worked mostly at the Middle and High Schools.  I really enjoy working with high school students and helping students and families prepare for college and employment!
 
 
 
 
  • WHAT IS THE ROLE OF THE SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST?

    The primary responsibility of the school psychologist is to assist the school in improving the achievement and adjustment of children including those with physical, mental and emotional disabilities. The school psychologist provides for an intensive individual psychological study of children referred to him or her because of learning and/or adjustment problems and provides a written report of these studies, including interpretation and utilization of this data.

    The school psychologist provides consultation with teachers, parents and other professionals in the school and community to assist them in improving the learning adjustment of the children referred.
