WHAT IS THE ROLE OF THE SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST?The primary responsibility of the school psychologist is to assist the school in improving the achievement and adjustment of children including those with physical, mental and emotional disabilities. The school psychologist provides for an intensive individual psychological study of children referred to him or her because of learning and/or adjustment problems and provides a written report of these studies, including interpretation and utilization of this data.
The school psychologist provides consultation with teachers, parents and other professionals in the school and community to assist them in improving the learning adjustment of the children referred.
