Facility Services
The facility services department consists of 10 maintenance employees, 31 custodians and 1 courier. Under the direction of Mr. John Byron, the department is responsible for maintaining the district's real estate portfolio, including 6 school buildings, 3 athletic stadiums, a variety of auxiliary buildings and all green spaces. The portfolio is comprised of nearly 1,000,000 square feet under roof and 130 acres of green space.
Facility services include custodial services, maintenance, facility scheduling, courier services, and construction management services. Hudson Community Education and Recreation (HCER), a department within the Hudson City School District, uses district facilities almost exclusively for a broad range of community programming. Facility services provide and manage facility scheduling and other support services for HCER as well.
