School-Emergency Relief Funding Suggestions

In the summer of 2021, public schools nationwide were allocated Federal Funds that are included in the American Rescue Plan Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund (ARP ESSER).  These funds are to be used to respond to the pandemic and/or to address the academic impact of lost instructional time as a result of COVID-19 by providing evidence-based interventions, such as summer learning programs, and/or extended school year programs that respond to students’ academic, social, and emotional needs and address the disproportionate impact of coronavirus on student populations including students from low-income families, students of color, English learners, children with disabilities, students experiencing homelessness, and children in foster care.

Hudson City Schools was allocated $1,281,851.71 ARP ESSER. These funds are intended to be used over a three year period of time.  It is important to involve the greater school community in seeking feedback about how the funds will be expended. Our main priorities are safety, student learning, and student and staff wellness.

Those interested may submit comments via ARP ESSER Federal Grant Public Participation Form or submit comments to Phillip Butto IV, Hudson City School Treasurer/CFO buttop@hudson.k12.oh.us or 2386 Hudson Aurora Road, Hudson, Ohio 44236. The district will consider all comments now and at the time of the sixth month review period.
