Hello, families! My name is Kelly Obendorf, and I am thrilled to be part of your child's education this year in the supplemental reading program. I am honored to be a part of the Hudson City Schools community, and  I'm looking forward to a year full of learning and fun. My goal is to foster a welcoming, safe place for your child to grow as a reader.

I grew up here in Hudson, and I love getting to teach in the district I went through. I graduated from John Carroll University with a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education and a K-12 Reading Endorsement. I also hold a Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with an Elementary Literacy focus. Prior to teaching supplemental reading, I taught first grade here in Hudson for 6 years. The first and second grade years are full of growth that happens at different paces for each individual student. Teaching reading and working with young children is my passion, and I am committed to facilitating learning in the best way for your unique learner, while partnering with you, your child, and your child's teacher.

I live in Aurora with my husband, our 3 year old daughter, our dog, and our cat. When I am not teaching, I enjoy cooking, gardening, reading, spending time with my family and friends, and cheering for my favorite Cleveland sports teams!

It is going to be a great year, and I look forward to communicating and collaborating with you to help your child succeed. Please do not hesitate to contact me with anything you need.
