• Welcome to Reading Club in Room 118A! In Reading Club, we work in small groups and use targeted instruction to meet the needs of our students. Our work includes phonics/word work, vocabulary development, guided reading lessons, independent and oral reading, comprehension, and written responses to reading. Frequent assessments allow us to keep track of student progress and adjust our instruction.

    We try to find fun and creative ways to support our young readers and writers based on their interests and needs. Some of our goals include creating a calm environment that students enjoy coming to, challenging our students to take risks, boosting their confidence, and fostering a love for reading. Children often don't enjoy reading when they don't feel successful at it, but we will do our best to ensure your children grow as readers and find joy in reading.
