Degrees and Certifications:
Welcome back! I hope everyone had an enjoyable summer and plenty of time to spend with their families. I am very excited to have the opportunity to teach your child math this year. I believe every child is a unique individual capable of learning. My classroom is a positive, supportive, caring environment with high expectations that challenges each student to achieve their full potential in mathematics. We are going to have an amazing year learning mathematics together!
I am looking forward to getting to know each of my students strengths and interests and wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Annette Blue and this is my 23rd year teaching in Hudson. When I am not at school, you may see me running through Hudson. My other hobbies include baking/cake decorating and photography. My husband, David, teaches 5th grade at East Woods. We live in Hudson with our two children, Ainsley (15), and Preston (11) and beagle, Bailey. From experience as a parent of a former and current Hudson Middle School student, I can assure you that HMS is an amazing place for your child to learn and grow!
My educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with a concentration in mathematics from Kent State University and a Master of Science in Educational Administration from the University of Akron with licensure as an elementary, middle school, and high school principal. Additionally, I have earned 45 hours post-Master's focusing in the areas of middle school mathematics education and school administration. In addition to teaching, I serve on the Ohio Department of Education's Mathematics Rangefinding Committee and Alignment Review Committee, am a member of our district's Local Professional Development Committee and Scheduling Committee, am the Director of the Ohio Math League at HMS, teach graduate level mathematics education courses for teachers through Miami University and am a Resident Educator Assessor for the state of Ohio.
Let's make this a great year together!
