Website:
The website provides in-depth information about all aspects of the school district. This interactive tool contains the most up-to-date information about what is happening in the district.
Mobile App:
Download the free Mobile App from the Apple Store and Google Play Store. Search on "Hudson Schools Ohio," and look for the ship! The newsfeed keeps you up-to-date with the latest news headlines, announcements, and upcoming events. In addition, the App provides quick links to key resources such as Home Access Center, lunch menus, athletic schedules and more.

The Hudson City School District uses Facebook to connect with its parents, community and alumni. Both video and photo content are posted routinely on the "Hudson City Schools " Facebook page. Please remember to "Like" us on Facebook.
Twitter:
The Hudson City Schools uses Twitter to reach a demographic that uses web and mobile apps to communicate with our schools. Follow the district, superintendent and building principals on Twitter. Follow the District @hudsonohschools.
Web Broadcast Alerts: (received via email)
Broadcast Alerts are typically sent to groups of registered users, such as, all parents or parents whose child is in a particular building. These messages contain information such as newsletters, emergency closings, cancellations, meeting notices and the like
Web Content Alerts: ( received via email)
Content Alerts are sent to registered users who have subscribed to a homepage or website sections of interest. For example, you might subscribe to the District's homepage, building homepage, or to the page of your your child's teacher. When the District, building or the teacher's page is updated and a content E-Alert is sent, you will receive email notification that content has been modified. The email will contain a link to navigate to the subscription location.
H-Alert Messaging: (received on home or mobile phone)
H-Alert is high-speed phone calling service that is used to deliver messages to multiple phone lines for emergency, weather related information and building high priority messages. This system is used when the district needs to reach parents immediately or timely information needs to reach parents. Multiple phone numbers per family can be used for H-Alert.
School Calendar of Activities:
The school district calendar is an important tool for parents to use to navigate the school year, and important school activities. Buildings and teachers also have the capability of producing calendar information that is useful to parents and students.
Press Releases, News Tips, and Photographs:
The Hudson City School District Communications Manager works with local media to provide weekly, monthly and yearly information to area news media.
Home Access Center:
Home Access Center is a web-based student and parent subscription tool that provides up-to-date information concerning individual student grades and progress. This tool is available for high school and middle school students.
Crisis Communications:
The Hudson City School District has a comprehensive crisis communications plan for the District. The plan includes all aspects of school safety, including weather, illness, intrusion, external threats and violence. In addition, the plan provides communications guidelines and crisis counseling for students and staff.
Surveys, Focus Groups, and Advisory Committees:
The Hudson City School District surveys its staff and community concerning a variety of issues about our schools. Community Surveys are conducted approximately every five years. The Superintendent and Treasurer work with a cross-tab of community members and parents. Many school groups help with communications. In addition the Board of Education encourages public attendance at its meetings and also holds informal monthly coffees.
Special Events and Partnerships:
Celebrating student success is vital to building pride and unity in the community and schools. Events held throughout the year help to build powerful partnerships with area business, parent organizations and residents. Some of these events include band shows, concerts, plays, athletic competitions, Hudson Parent Teacher Organization Pancake Breakfast, Art Shows, Hudson Parent Teacher Association Reflections; Community First, "Ready, Set, Relax," Children's Mental Health Coalition, Safe Routes Hudson and the Hudson Chamber of Commerce support of the Entrepreneurial programs at Hudson High School.
Hudson Cable TV:
The Hudson School District partners with HCTV providing facilities for its operations located at Hudson High School. Board of Education meetings are aired on regularly scheduled programming. HCTV also covers a variety of school events, including athletics, concerts and other special programs.

Communications Action Plan:
The District operates its communications as part of the overall district Strategic Plan. Marketing and communications strategies are designed each year to support the goals and objectives of the four major areas of the plan, including Academics, Facilities, Finances and Communications. As part of Communications, parents and school organizations are consulted about new and on-going communications.
