Hello and welcome to 7 Service social studies! I started my teaching career in 1984 in Arizona on the Navajo Reservation. I began teaching in the Hudson City Schools in 1989 as a fifth grade language arts, science, and social studies teacher. Since 2005, I have taught 7th grade social studies at Hudson Middle School. The study of world history is fascinating. We will explore many cultures in-depth starting with ancient Greece and continuing through history to our final topic, the European Renaissance including the Scientific Revolution and the Age of Exploration. The best way to learn history is to become actively engaged in inquiry about a time period and its people. We will hone our literacy skills and think like historians. Participating as citizens of Greek city-states, building Roman cities, creating characters from the Middle Ages and exploring the blossoming of art and knowledge during the Renaissance, we will be students of world history.
As we begin the school year, let's commit ourselves to Be Responsible, Be Respectful, and Be Ready!
