I have been teaching in Hudson since 1995. During my 29 years, I have taught Mathematics, Social Studies, and Science in Fourth Grade for 18 years.  Eleven years ago, I moved to Fifth Grade to teach Mathematics and Inquiry.

I graduated from The Ohio State University in 1993 with a Bachelors of Arts degree in History. After a year of working in a regular job, I decided to go back and get another degree. I graduated with my Masters in Education from John Carroll University in 1995. Over the years, I have had several teaching partners. Jane Bleyle (deceased 2012) was an excellent mentor to me for 5 years. Kadee Anstadt (Sherer-Malm-Patchen) motivated me to become a better teacher with her creativity and passion for education for 5 more years. In 2005, Rebecca Ulrich and I teamed up and taught together for 8 years.  Since moving to fifth grade six years ago, I have taught with Don Haines, Mary Gladstone, Dannielle Harrison, Chelsea Koss, Marie Rourke, and most recently, Mary Beth Bohan (who has moved over to Kindergarten), and Haley Hauser. 

 

For the 2023-2024 school year (and hopefully beyond), I am back with Mrs. Rourke!  WOOHOO!  We are very excited for the school year to begin, and we hope all our students are excited about learning in fifth grade as well.

Currently, I reside in Hudson with my wife Annette (herself a Hudson Middle School 6th Grade Math Teacher), my daughter Ainsley (a third year student at THE Ohio State University), and son Preston (Senior at University School). Annette has taught in Hudson since 1996. She has her Bachelors of Science in Education from Kent State University and her Masters of Education-Administration from the University of Akron.
