• Meet Mr. Brockway

Welcome to fifth grade! I am so excited for a great year of building relationships, exploration, and learning. If you'd like to know a little bit more about me, you've come to the right place. I graduated from Kent State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. Since I felt that Kent State hadn't already taken enough of my money as an undergrad, I returned there to complete a Master's Degree in Educational Administration.

I have been teaching in Hudson since 1999 where I began as a 2nd grade teacher at Hudson Elementary. After teaching 2nd grade for 5 years, I graduated to 5th grade where I spent 6 years teaching Language Arts and Social Studies and one year teaching Social Studies and Science. Then, I moved to 4th grade to teach Language Arts and Social Studies for 2 year. Since then, I have bounced around between 4th and 5th grade several times as I taught all subjects on a co-teaching team. This year, I am excited to begin a new adventure working with Mrs. Denges and Mr. Lehman.
On a personal level, I married my high school sweetheart in 1997, and we have two teenaged daughters. One is a sophomore at Kent State and the other one is a junior at Hudson High School. I enjoy bowling, skiing, and playing pinball and board games with my family. I am also the head coach of the Hudson High School bowling teams and I have been the head advisor for the East Woods Ski Club for several years.
