    This is a Tuesday-Thursday Friday Week

    Hudson City Schools offers breakfast daily for students at Evamere Elementary, Ellsworth Hill Elementary, East Woods School, Hudson Middle School, and Hudson High School. Breakfast at school provides a well-rounded source of nutrition to start the day off right for your student!

    Special thanks to our Nutrition Services staff for graciously sharing in our whole-school read-aloud of the book Refugee, offering additional menu choices for lunch during the week of 9/23:

    • Tuesday: Germany - Bratwurst and sauerkraut, red potatoes, apple crumble, roll

    • Wednesday: Cuba - Cuban Sandwiches (ham, cheese, mustard, pickles on a sweet roll), cilantro rice, sweet potato fries

    • Thursday: Syria - Falafel, pita, hummus, cucumber/tomato salad, tzatziki sauce  

     

    Art for All, an annual festival showcasing self-expression through art for children of all abilities, returns on October 12th, 2019, 1:00-3:00 pm at the Twinsburg Community Center, 10260 Ravenna Rd, Twinsburg, OH. This year we'll be featuring a community spirit theme where families will have approximately a dozen stations to complete hands-on crafts with all the art supplies and space you'll need. Tons of family fun without the mess at home! The event is free of charge and is presented by the Parent Mentor programs of Hudson, Nordonia and Twinsburg Schools.  
     

    Students will visit the Scholastic Book Fair on October 22nd & 23rd during their Language Arts class. If you are interested in ordering online to avoid sending cash to school, or if you are interested in volunteering for the sale, click the following link: http://bookfairs.scholastic.com/bf/hudson_middle_school  We will run this announcement for a few days now and then closer to the sale.

    K - 8 students that live 1 - 2 miles from their schools and have a safe path are encouraged to walk or bike to school on Friday, September 27th for the Safe Routes Hudson Walk/Bike to School Day. Helmets, reflective clothing and cautious walking & riding are encouraged.  This is our 8th year of participation in this semi-annual event! Walkers and bikers will benefit from a fun way to get to school with parents or friends, extra energy for the start of the school day and exercise for a healthier lifestyle!

    Student Fees are now viewable on Home Access Center (HAC)  and MyPaymentsPlus (MPP) Please pay by 9/30/19 through MPP or send a check (payable to Hudson City Schools) to the middle school main office.   If you have any questions, please call the middle school main office at 330-653-1319. Thank you for paying these fees promptly!  

    Attention parents of 8th Grade students going on the Washington DC trip in November.  Mark your calendars for the DC Parent meeting scheduled for Monday, October 7th at 6:30pm.  Topics to be covered include drop-off time and procedures for Monday morning, what to pack and luggage verification form, items to bring for the bus ride, medication drop-off, how much spending money to include, personal electronics, and behavioral expectations.   This is a highly informative meeting and we greatly encourage all parents to attend.  If you have any questions, please call the Main Office at (330) 653-1319.  We look forward to seeing you.

    Do you have good leadership skills? Are you interested in getting more involved at HMS? Do you enjoy helping others?  

    If you have answered yes to these questions, then the HMS Student Council is the group for you to join.  Student Council organizes various service projects and activities throughout the year. Officers are voted on and committee chairpersons are selected.  They take a leadership role in all activities. You can also be a member of student council. There are many opportunities for students to get involved.  Meetings are once a month on Thursdays after school in the Media Center. 

    To become a member of student council, you need to complete an interest form.  Forms are available at the Student Resource Center and are due by Friday, September 27th.  Return your completed form to the box at the Student Resource Center. If you have any questions about student council, please ask Mrs. Kantin in room A-102 or Mrs.Blue in room A-100.

    HCER is offering a session of Middle School Gaming Club beginning Tuesday, Sept. 17th.  This club includes transportation from HMS to and from The Malted Meeple.  Register at www.hudson.k12.oh.us/hcer.
