Mr. Iriarte
Roberto Iriarte is currently the Director of Orchestras and Jazz Ensembles and has been with the Hudson City School District since 1996. In addition to teaching, he is an active professional performer. He is a member of the Canton Symphony Orchestra, Cleveland Pops Orchestra, has performed with the Cleveland Orchestra, Breckenridge Festival Orchestra and performs at Playhouse Square in Cleveland for Broadway Shows and special productions. He was a member of the Walt Disney World All-American College Orchestra, the American Wind Symphony Orchestra and the Casals Festival Youth Orchestra of the Americas. He has backed such artists as Dave Brubeck, Maynard Ferguson, Billy Taylor, John Davidson, Rita Moreno, Johnny Mathis, Michael W. Smith, Andre Watts, Edgar Meyer, Ed Shaughnessy, Rosemary Clooney, Linda Ronstadt, Jack Jones and the New York Voices.
Mr. Iriarte is a graduate of Kent State University (BM, BMEd, 1994) and Temple University (MM, 1996) as well as the Kent-Blossom Chamber Music Festival. In 2013, he was a semi-finalist for the Inaugural Music Educator of the Year Grammy Award. He is a certified Master Teacher, certified Apple Teacher, and has served as the OMEA Northeast Region Chair. He is a recipient of a 2017 Distinguished Teaching Award in the HCSD.
