Stop the Hate Essay Finalist

The Hudson City School District is proud to announce that middle school student Juliet Richards has been named as a finalist in the Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage Stop the Hate essay writing contest.

Juliet, a 6th grade student, wrote about a time she witnessed bias and racism in kindergarten.  While the incident didn't directly happen to her, it had a profound impact. Juliet believes kindness is a way people can make a difference.

Being named a finalist is a top honor, as only 20 finalists are selected from a pool of nearly 3,000 6th to 12th graders in Northeast Ohio. Winners are eligible to receive scholarships or cash prizes, as well as anti-bias educational grants for their school. Essay winners will be named by the museum next month.

Congratulations, Juliet!
