Kiwanis Club of Hudson Grants $20,000 to Start Hydroponic Garden
The Kiwanis Club of Hudson once again has demonstrated its commitment to the development of our youth in the Hudson Schools. The Kiwanis Club has granted Hudson High School $20,000 in grant money to help us begin a hydroponic garden and small business.
The Sustainability Project is an agricultural integration into the high school biology and special education curriculum as well as the development of an Agriculture Club to grow organic non-GMO produce to sell to the Hudson City School District staff and the community. The Sustainability Project will begin with the development of hydroponic gardening as a means to examine the biological concepts, as well as, to provide students with a meaningful way to see the application of these concepts. The Sustainability Project will also provide job skills and training for our special education students.
