Laura Jones Appointed to Fill BOE Seat

The Hudson Board of Education unanimously appointed Laura Jones to fill the seat left vacant by David Zuro, who announced his resignation from the Board last month.  Jones was selected from 12 applicants who applied for the position. Four were selected to be interviewed for the open seat.

“Laura has been a passionate advocate for our students and the entire Hudson community for the past 15
plus years,” said Steve DiMauro, President of the Hudson Board of Education. “She emerged as the most qualified and deserving applicant, and she will be a fantastic addition to the Board. Laura understands the importance of serving the needs of all students, families, and the community at large, while listening to the perspectives and points of view of all stakeholders.”

Jones has served in leadership roles with Hudson Community First, Hudson VIP, Hudson Schools
Foundation, Hudson Public Schools Endowment Fund, Hudson PTO, and other volunteer organizations within the community.

She will be officially sworn into office at the BOE meeting on August 22 at 7 p.m. in the Hudson High School Media Center.

According to Board policy, Jones is slated to serve until January 1 following the next scheduled BOE election, which is November 2023.
