HCSD Welcomes Additional School Resource Officer

HUDSON, OH - Hudson City Schools is pleased to welcome Officer Brian Logue as a new School Resource Officer for the 2023-2024 school year. The addition of the third SRO has been in the works for months, after the Hudson Board of Education approved the hiring back in fall 2022.
Superintendent Dana Addis said adding the third officer came after many discussions within the Parent and Staff Safety Advisory Committee. “Safety will always be at the forefront of everything we do here at Hudson City Schools,” Addis said. “We believe Officer Logue will be an effective asset in forging positive relationships with our students and working to keep our entire school community safe.”

Officer Logue is an 18-year veteran of the Hudson Police Department. His background with the HPD includes patrol and special task force responsibilities. He currently is also an active member of the Metro Swat Team serving Summit County. Officer Logue has been involved with coaching athletics locally for the past decade.

“I am excited to start my job as a certified resource officer with the district,” said Officer Logue. “I look forward to the opportunity to serve students and to be more connected within the school community.”

Officer Logue will spread his time rotating among the three elementary buildings: McDowell Early Learning, Ellsworth Hill and East Woods. Hudson SRO Matt Price will now be primarily at Hudson Middle School, with Officer Joe Giacomazza serving Hudson High School. Under the district’s agreement with HPD, these officers also serve the city’s private schools, as needed.

“The district is fortunate to have a great relationship with our safety forces here in Hudson,” Addis noted. “Both Hudson Police Chief Perry Tabak and myself believe it is extremely beneficial to be able to devote one officer to our middle school and another solely to our high school population.”

Personally, Officer Logue and his wife have three children. He enjoys camping and spending time outdoors with his family.
