The Hudson City School District’s textbook adoption procedure includes community input.  The input format was developed to encourage participation from parents and community members.  Please share this information with the members in your organization.

All textbooks under consideration for adoption will be available for preview Monday, February 24 through Thursday, February 27, 2020 at the Hudson Public Library and Historical Society during their normal business hours of 9:00 am to 9:00 pm.  Additionally, Christina Wooley, Curriculum Coordinator, Rebecca Rice, Literacy Coordinator, or I will be available to answer questions at the Library as follows:

 Monday, February 24th: 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

 Tuesday, February 25th: 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm

Wednesday, February 26th: 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm

Thursday, February 27th: 9:00 am – 11:00 am

Textbooks for preview for the Elementary:  4th and 5th grade Reading, Middle School: 6th – 8th  Social Studies.

We encourage community members to participate.  The District welcomes comments and input regarding textbooks.  Comment forms will be available at the Library and can be left in the drop box, or emailed to me at osmund@hudson.edu.

The teacher textbook review committees will include community input in their decision making process.  All textbooks recommended for adoption will be brought to the Board of Education at the first May board meeting, with board action taking place at the board meeting in June.

All are invited to attend.  We look forward to receiving your input!
