Superintendent Sends an Important Message about Positive Covid cases, 9.01.20.
Dear Parents or Guardians,
One of the most important aspects of managing information about COVID-19 is to keep our school families informed if a student or staff member has tested positive for the virus. We have been in contact with Summit County Public Health (SCPH) and it has been confirmed that two Hudson High School students have tested positive in unrelated cases. Both students have not been in school this week; however, one student did participate in an extracurricular activity last week. Students and staff who also participated in the same extracurricular activity are being notified.
Per Summit County Public Health COVID-19 protocols and decision-making, SCPH is conducting contact tracing procedures and individuals who are considered primary contacts will be notified.
As the year progresses, you may learn about a “confirmed” COVID-19 case through friends, word of mouth, or social media, including specific names; however, Hudson City Schools will not be sharing any specific names due to HIPAA and FERPA laws.
We know that there are a lot of questions and concerns related to possible exposure to COVID-19 including isolation and quarantine requirements. Please refer to the Summit County Public Health Decision Tree for further guidance.
