09.07.20 Superintendent sends important message about positive COVID-19 case.

Dear Parents or Guardians,

Yesterday, we were in contact with Summit County Public Health (SCPH) and it has been confirmed that an East Woods Intermediate student has tested positive for COVID-19. The student was in school last week. Parents of the students in this class have been notified separately.

Per Summit County Public Health COVID-19 protocols and decision-making, the District is cooperating with SCPH in conducting contact tracing procedures and individuals who are considered primary contacts will be notified.

As the year progresses, you may learn about a “confirmed” COVID-19 case through friends, word of mouth, or social media, including specific names; however, Hudson City Schools will not be sharing any specific names due to HIPAA and FERPA laws.

We know that there are a lot of questions and concerns related to possible exposure to COVID-19 including isolation and quarantine requirements. Please refer to the Summit County Public Health Decision Tree for further guidance.

Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns.
