Superintendent Phil Herman: Middle School will Transition to Hybrid on Monday, November 30th.

Dear Hudson Parents,

I hope you have had a safe and relaxing Thanksgiving holiday weekend. In recent weeks,  as COVID cases increased in our community, Hudson High School and Hudson Middle School have also seen increased cases. Last week and over the Thanksgiving break, three recent cases at the Middle School indicated the likelihood of in-school spread.  Due to those cases, the prevalence of the virus in our community, and in order to ensure 6’ of social distancing in the weeks ahead, our Middle School students will transition to the hybrid learning model, Monday, November 30, 2020 and will remain in hybrid at least until winter break. High School students will remain in the hybrid model and our elementary students will remain All-in. We will continue to monitor case rates at each of our buildings and will communicate any other transitions if they become necessary.

Hudson High School Instructions:

In early November, Brian Wilch communicated the change in the HS hybrid schedule.  Part of that plan was contingent upon the K-12  instructional models remaining in place.

From HS communication November 3rd: Should Hudson High School transition to “All in,” this A-Block/B-Block format represents the schedule for both buildings going forward. Conversely, should Hudson Middle School return to “Hybrid,” the high school calendar/schedule would revert back to the original “Hybrid” A-B-B-A calendar with alternating Fridays.

High School and Middle Schedule:

High School and Middle School Students with the last names A-LAZ will attend M-W-(every other Friday) and students with the last name LE-Z will attend Tuesday-Thursday and every other Friday. Monday, November 30th becomes a “blue day” for high school students.

How to notify us if you need to report a COVID-19 positive test result:

Thank you for your continued partnership in helping to keep our students and our staff safe through self-identification when exposed to someone with a positive COVID-19 test result. Over the Thanksgiving holiday, we are piloting a form for parents to use to report a COVID-19 positive test result. Once submitted, the form will automatically go to the appropriate person in your child’s building for COVID reporting. Please use the form if at all possible; however, you may still email or call an administrator or clinic if necessary.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us at hudsonready@hudson.k12.oh.us or contact your building administrator.
