Being kind, reaching out to others that need an extra smile, hug, or friend!

Kindergarteners in Kate Thomas' class are learning about how to spread kindness. Through a tragedy in her own extended family, Kate and educational aide Shelley, decided they wanted to  try and teach others about "Brad", a kind and caring 15-year old who tragically lost his life in a gun accident. The children brainstormed about how they could support a local "foundation" like the one Brad's family (Kate's cousin's family) started in Tampa, Florida.

The class picked the Ronald McDonald House in Akron. Over the past 4 weeks the students planned their project and started collecting pop tabs school-wide, and comfort items, such as blankets and stuffed animals.

In the month of March, the class will collect food items and health aids such as toothpaste, shampoo and soap to donate to this very special place for families.
