What physical changes will students see in the classrooms when they return to school?
Room re-configurations will likely require desks to be facing in the same direction, with one student per table or desk. In order to maintain social distancing to the greatest degree possible, physical contact will need to be avoided whenever possible. Supplies will no longer be shared except if necessary, such as in a science lab. Supplies will only be shared if they are able to be disinfected between uses.
While there will need to be movement from one area of the school to other areas during the day, we are exploring reducing the amount of student movement by having teachers come to the students' homeroom to teach the various subjects in elementary buildings. In secondary buildings, expectations will be set for students to adhere to social distancing requirements when switching classes to limit contact. Staff will monitor halls and no congregating will be permitted.
